As I lie in my bed, dying with the flu, I've decided to make an effort to stick to my New Years Resolutions;
1. Stop buying things just because "they're a bargain"
2. Be more dedicated to my blog
So, as number 1 has already went out the window, thank you January sales, the only thing left for me to concentrate on is this, my blog and you, my readers (all 3 of you)...
I've been thinking long and hard about what my third blog post is going to be about, sorry again for neglecting you Glossy Rags, and I've come to the conclusion that since it's now 2016, I'd do a review of one of the things I think epitomised the streetstyle world last year- the new age Supermodel. Yes, Gigi And Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel, to name a few, are the ladies I think have had a hand in shaping our biggest trends of 2015.
Okay, so I'll be the first to admit that we can't all afford a £1,465.00 Givenchy bag but that doesn't mean we can't recreate our favourite models looks, on a slightly more highstreet budget.
Take Kendall Jenner for example, throw on your trusty leather jacket, a grey hoodie, black jeans and black booties and you've got the look and let's face it you can find these wardrobe essentials in Primark so it's not a look that's going to break the bank and all the items can be translated into other outfits, daytime, nighttime, winter or summer.
Miranda Kerr, not exactly part of the new age group of supermodels, but a style icon none the less. She channels one of the biggest trends from the last year perfectly - fringing. Although this outfit is more Coyote Ugly than 20s flapper and the stylish suede, tan, fringed jacket is more Saint Laurent
than New Look, Miranda's stylish outfit can be copied perfectly thanks to the Highstreet gods! See
here for a replica jacket, here for those leather skinnies and here for the talcum powder you'll probably need to get them on!
Next on to GiGi Hadid, her street style takes on a range of different personas, biker chick, nerdy chic, lovely lady and bohemian beauty, to name a few but whatever the look she takes it and owns it. This mom Jean, brogue and leather jacket combo is what I think 2015 streetstyle was all about. You can find replicas of every part of this outfit on the highstreet, since these items are so on trend right now.
This blog post doesn't nearly do justice to the hundreds of uber stylish looks created by the worlds hottest supermodels but it's a start and sums up what I think 2015 looked like for the casual streetstyle scene.
Please leave your thoughts and suggestions for what you'd like to see, here on Glossy Rags and hopefully there'll be more regular updates! Also please follow my Instagram @glossyrags
