2015: the year of The Stylish Supermodel

"Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress on their days off that are the most intriguing" - Alexander Wang

As I lie in my bed, dying with the flu, I've decided to make an effort to stick to my New Years Resolutions;

1. Stop buying things just because "they're a bargain"
2. Be more dedicated to my blog

So, as number 1 has already went out the window, thank you January sales, the only thing left for me to concentrate on is this, my blog and you, my readers (all 3 of you)...

I've been thinking long and hard about what my third blog post is going to be about, sorry again for neglecting you Glossy Rags, and I've come to the conclusion that since it's now 2016, I'd do a review of one of the things I think epitomised the streetstyle world last year- the new age Supermodel. Yes, Gigi And Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Candice Swanepoel, to name a few, are the ladies I think have had a hand in shaping our biggest trends of 2015.

Okay, so I'll be the first to admit that we can't all afford a £1,465.00 Givenchy bag but that doesn't mean we can't recreate our favourite models looks, on a slightly more highstreet budget.

Take Kendall Jenner for example, throw on your trusty leather jacket, a grey hoodie, black jeans and black booties and you've got the look and let's face it you can find these wardrobe essentials in Primark so it's not a look that's going to break the bank and all the items can be translated into other outfits, daytime, nighttime, winter or summer.

Miranda Kerr, not exactly part of the new age group of supermodels, but a style icon none the less. She channels one of the biggest trends from the last year perfectly - fringing. Although this outfit is more Coyote Ugly than 20s flapper and the stylish suede, tan, fringed jacket is more Saint Laurent
than New Look, Miranda's stylish outfit can be copied perfectly thanks to the Highstreet gods! See
here for a replica jacket, here for those leather skinnies and here for the talcum powder you'll probably need to get them on!

Next on to GiGi Hadid, her street style takes on a range of different personas, biker chick, nerdy chic, lovely lady and bohemian beauty, to name a few but whatever the look she takes it and owns it. This mom Jean, brogue and leather jacket combo is what I think 2015 streetstyle was all about. You can find replicas of every part of this outfit on the highstreet, since these items are so on trend right now.

This blog post doesn't nearly do justice to the hundreds of uber stylish looks created by the worlds hottest supermodels but it's a start and sums up what I think 2015 looked like for the casual streetstyle scene.

Please leave your thoughts and suggestions for what you'd like to see, here on Glossy Rags and hopefully there'll be more regular updates! Also please follow my Instagram @glossyrags

Airport chic..

"Running through airports with pounds of luggage - that's a good workout" - Rachel  McAdams

Airport wear has always been a struggle for me, do I go for comfort or do I go for style? Obviously, in an ideal world we'd go for something that didn't chafe us on a 3 hour flight and didn't let the world know what type of underwear we have on (I'm look at you, cotton leggings)! Luckily for us though, somewhere out there a fashion conscious, yet comfort loving mind came up with the perfect solution and hence, I give to you 'The Luxe Jogger'! They've been the thing this season and they're pretty much perfect for any occasion, casual or classy.

I thought this post was appropriate as this morning I'm travelling to Portual, so hopefully I'll be posting an OOTD (outfit of the day) every day this week!

Please keep being patient (I'm still new to this!) and keep leaving comments on here or on my Instagram @glossyrags.

Until next time,

One step closer to Fashion Week..

"Hello, Patriots! I don't think I've been this excited since Gucci became a publicly-traded company." - Elle Woods
Welcome to Glossy Rags, a blog for fashion lovers, style enthusiasts and Runway worshippers. This is my first blog post (scary!), so excuse my first post jitters and probably boring introduction to what will be my new relationship with the World of Fashion! First off, here are a few facts about me:
• I'm a student from the UK
• I spend way to much time online shopping (and leaving baskets full of clothes I dream about buying)
• I believe you can never have too many shoes.. Never.

After that brief introduction I'll get stuck in with what we're really here for.. The outfits!

Blazer// Newlook
Top// Miss Selfridge
Jeans// Hollister
Shoes// Missguided
Watch// Michael Kors

I recently wore this outfit out for dinner with a few friends. An excuse to wear my new shoes? Yes. Anyway, I ended up loving this outfit, so well done new shoes because you earned the prime spot as Glossy Rags first ever post!

Sleeveless Blazers have been everywhere lately, they're versatile and anyone can pull them off. You can see them on the S/S15 runways of Acne Studios, 3.1 Philip Lim and Rag and Bone and several -although much cheaper versions- have earned a spot in my summer wardrobe. Now onto my favourite and most important part of any outfit, the shoes! These beautiful strappy, studded heeled sandals were my bargain buy of the month, breaking the bank at £10.50! I mean honestly, how could I say no? They are the perfect summer sandal and you can find them on sale here for £15!

Well, that's it for my first ever blog post! Please leave your thoughts and opinions below and feel free to give me advice on what you'd like to see or what you'd like me to talk about.

Until next time,
